Questions Parents Often Ask
Simple, practical information to help your child get the most from their SureThing Kids lessons
✓ Inspired by real-life language immersion: SureThing Kids was created by a teacher and mum after seeing her own two young children learn a new language in less than a year through immersion when the family moved to Portugal.
✓ English-only teaching: Teachers use English throughout the lesson, helping children understand the language through movement and context. They listen, watch, copy actions and gradually begin using English themselves.
✓ Learn through play: Games, stories and interactive activities help children practice English naturally while keeping lessons fun, engaging and age-appropriate.
✓ 100% teacher attention: One-to-one lessons give your child the teacher’s full focus, with more speaking time, immediate support and activities tailored to their needs.
✓ Short, focused 25-minute lessons: Designed to suit young learners’ attention spans, helping children stay engaged and make the most of every session.
SureThing Kids lessons are designed especially for children aged 5–10, with activities adapted to each child’s age, level and confidence.
Each lesson is 25 minutes long — enough time for focused learning while keeping young learners engaged.
100% individual attention: Every lesson is taught one-to-one, giving your child plenty of speaking time, personal support and activities suited to their needs.
Beginners are welcome: Children can start with little or no English, while those who already know some English can build their speaking, vocabulary and confidence.
Support when needed: Younger or nervous children may benefit from having a parent nearby at first. As confidence grows, they can usually participate more independently.
Progress is monitored: Lessons build gradually on previous learning, while teachers monitor confidence, participation and developing English skills. Parents can receive feedback on progress and areas to practice.
A gentle, encouraging approach: There is no pressure to speak before your child feels ready. Games, visuals and familiar routines help children relax, participate and build confidence.
Flexible scheduling: Tell us your preferred days and times, and we’ll help you find an available lesson slot that works for your family and local time zone.
Regular weekly times: Where availability allows, your child can keep the same lesson time each week to create a consistent learning routine.
Easy rescheduling: Contact us as early as possible if you need to change a lesson. Our cancellation and rescheduling terms will be clearly explained before you begin a paid lesson package.
A relaxed first meeting: Your child meets the teacher in a friendly one-to-one session so we can understand their current English level, confidence and learning needs.
Learning through movement and context: Teachers help children understand English through movement. They listen, watch, copy actions, and gradually begin using the language themselves.
No obligation: The free lesson gives you and your child a chance to see whether SureThing Kids is the right fit before deciding whether to continue.
A clear next step: We’ll recommend a suitable starting point and discuss available lesson times and learning options. You can then choose individual lessons or one of our lesson packages.
Your child’s privacy matters: We only use the information you provide to manage enquiries, lessons and communication with you. Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
